On August 17 and 18 at Riga’s Dome Square from 10.00 until 23.00
Within the scope of the Riga City Festival everyone is invited to a fair at the very heart of Old Riga – the Dome Square – which will be buzzing from the ripe atmosphere of fairs from different periods created by the best craftsmen of Latvia. In the timber sheds Latvian arts and crafts masters and healthy food producers will sell their product and demonstrate the basics of craftsmanship. To increase their sale success craftsmen will impersonate some typical characters from theatre history starting with those from plays written by the founder of Latvian theatre Ādolfs Alunāns until those from plays by Rūdolfs Blaumanis, mixing in some of the most famous characters from Shakespeare and Schiller and even from well-known Russian plays.
Mimes, street caricaturists, puppet and marionette show masters, street musicians, play-actors, fortune tellers and lots of other entertainers will care for unforgettable atmosphere at the fair.
