The Concert Organization Ave Sol was founded in 1987 and its major task is to produce high quality professional and amateur art events beginning from the inception of the idea up to its implementation.

The Concert organization Ave Sol is equally interested in the value of the newly created artistic fact, as well as the pleasure and joy gained by the audience. Ave Sol offers its audiences not with a contingent or eclectic programmes but conceptually elaborated programmes facilitating the creative activities of the professional and amateur groups in Riga and ensuring implementation of high level and creative management ideas. It is important to mention that the concert hall has 11 amateur groups under its auspices – choirs, vocal groups, an ensemble playing the Latvian national string instrument kokle and a jazz group.

The main tasks of the Concert Organization are to provide a diversity of music and cultural events to inhabitants of Riga and its guests. The main areas of activity and the largest projects are connected with organizing the City Festival of Riga, national holidays on May 4 and November 11 and 18, as well as organizing the annual traditional festivals in the largest squares and parks of Riga. One of the basic areas of activity of the Concert organization is to coordinate and organize the competitions and concerts of the 107 choirs of Riga.

The basic activities are diversified by the instrumental music projects, besides an educational programme is also offered – master classes, courses, seminars for the choir conductors and music teachers in co-operation with specialists from Latvia and other countries, the young inhabitants of Riga are not forgotten either and they are offered indoor and outdoor events of multiple genre. To facilitate the access to the life of culture and concerts for the population with small income, as well as to give joy during festivities and in daily life, charity events for the resources from Riga City Council are organized – there is no entrance fee and no invitations are required. There are also concerts and outdoor events of explicitly entertaining character that are meant for wider audiences, and inter-genre projects are represented there, as well as multi-artistic events, concerts of classical music in informal atmosphere and underground or alternative music events, theatre productions, operettas, revues and so on.
